Catherine Amon died on February 18, 2014, after a long struggle with cancer. She was 56.
Catherine was a scholar, a counselor, and a spiritual guide to many. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampshire College and a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. She was pursuing a Masters in Divinity from the Yale Divinity School. She was a cognitive behavioral therapist practicing in New York and Connecticut and lectured locally and internationally in the disciplines of schema therapy, couples counselling and parenting techniques. She was an Associate and Spiritual Director at Holy Cross Monastery and previously served as the Interim Coordinator of the Chapel on the Green ministry in New Haven, Connecticut. She was wise, and kind, and very funny, and she will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her son William, her brother Michael Topp and his children Adam and Esme.
Her funeral will be held on March 1, 2014, at 11 am in Trinity Church on the Green, 129 Church Street, New Haven, Connecticut.
