In Yale New Haven Hospital, Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Robert J. Lawlor (REDMAN), 76, a longtime resident of Guilford passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Beloved husband of 54 years of Margaret (Marge) Lawlor. Bob was born in New Haven on Jan. 27, 1938, son of the late Harold M. and Lucille Wronski Lawlor. Loving father of Robert C. Lawlor and his wife Lori of Guilford and Richard C. Lawlor of Guilford. Also survived by his loving extended Marcondi family of sister-in-laws and his beloved pitbull, Buster.
Bob was a member of Ironworkers Local 424 for over 30 years and proudly served his country in the Marine Corps. He was quick to remind others that once a Marine always a Marine. He was a tremendous skier and loved to ski at Stratton Mountain in Vermont. Bob was an avid fisherman and often took his sons along; he always seemed to know the right spots where the fish would be biting. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening.
A Celebration of Bobs life will take place on Sunday, February 23 from 1 4pm at the VFW, Post 7666, 104 Mill Rd, Guilford, casual attire. Burial will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Center, PO Box 7611, New Haven, CT 06519-0611.
