James Perkins Earle II, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He lived in Guilford for over 50 years. Loving husband of the late Roberta (Robin) Earle for 54 years. Father of Pamela Earle Clark (Jonathan),Elisabeth Earle (John Hampel), James P. Earle (Sally), Peter F. Earle (Audrey), Roberta Earle Lawlor (Andrew). Predeceased by twin daughters Mary and Martha. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. James (Jim) was born in New Haven on January 4, 1934, son of the late Lyon H. Earle and Ruth H. Earle. James graduated from Hamden Hall in 1952 and attended Trinity College in Hartford. He worked for the Winchester Division of Olin for 22 years. After Olin he worked in the metal finishing industry. Jim was active in youth sports and enjoyed coaching many years. Jim was a member of the CT National Guard 118th Med Battalion, 102nd Infantry for 6 years. Jim was a daily communicant of St. George Church in Guilford and was active in many stewardship programs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19 at 10am. Burial will follow Mass in Westside Cemetery, Three Mile Course, Guilford. Friends may call at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford Tuesday, February 18 from 4 to 7 pm.
