Stephen Albert Krny, 97, of Clinton, passed away on September 22, 2013, at his home. He was lovingly surrounded by his family in the hours leading up to his passing.
Stephen was born in Manhattan, New York, on August 25, 1916. He was the son of John Frank Krny and Veronica Pazurik. The Krny family moved from New York to Clinton, Connecticut, when Stephen was four years old. He graduated high school at the age of 17 from Morgan High School on June 14, 1934. He went on to receive a post-graduate certificate in stenography after attending the City Evening School in New London, Connecticut.
Stephen married Corinne Lucy Dutcher on December 20, 1941, at the rectory of St. Marys Catholic Church in Clinton, Connecticut, and they were married 62 years. Their love was felt by all who knew them. Although known as Steve and Connie to friends and family, they were affectionately called Papa and Nana by his grandchildren. Comfort is taken knowing that Steve is now in heaven with Connie, whom he missed dearly since her passing in 2003.
Stephen enlisted the United States Army in March of 1943 and became part of the Headquarters Company 10th Infantry out of Camp Campbell, Kentucky. He bravely fought in World War II traveling to countries such as Normandy, Northern France, Northern Ireland, Czechoslovakia, Austria and Germany. While in Germany at the Battle of the Bulge, Stephen saved a fellow soldier earning him a Bronze Star. After his honorable service in the United States Army, Stephen worked as a park ranger for the Connecticut State Park and Forest Commission, working at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, and Devils Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, and retiring on October 21, 1971, after 30 years.
Stephen was known for his strong work ethic, and held several different jobs as a teen and young man. At 14, he began delivering mail for Meigs Point at Hammonasset, and then, while still in high school, he also worked as a golf caddy. Following high school but before WWII, he held several jobs including working for the Meriden Bus Station, at Winchesters, for the Parks, and then for T. J. Toy Company. While known for frugality in his own life, he will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity to friends, family and neighbors, never wanting those he knew to go without.
Stephen enjoyed the outdoors and loved hiking, hunting, trapping and fishing. He was an avid gardener, and grew and sold fruits, vegetables and Christmas trees, including tall-bush blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pears, peaches, squash and tomatoes. Stephen normally grew over 40 tomato plants, and his neighbors will undoubtedly miss his annual free tomatoes and squash sign. Until very recently, Stephen enjoyed shooting his .22 rifle, and he was known to enjoy his outdoor campfires. Until his death, he lived in his own home that he had built in the 1950s, and until December, 2012, he lived by himself. The family is extremely thankful to his caregiver, Daniel, who helped make it possible for the family to fulfill Stephens wish to stay in his own home.
Stephen is survived by his two children, John F. Krny and his wife, Diane Krny, of Clinton, Connecticut, and Karen A. Cyr and her husband, Thomas Cyr, of New Portland, Maine. He was also blessed with seven granddaughters: Wenonah Wirick of Wiscasset, Maine, Onetah Timmerman of New Portland, Maine, Wahleyah Black of New Portland, Maine, Naomah Waisanen of Auburn, Maine, Malayna Timmerman of Topsham, Maine, Genis Timmerman of Fairpoint, New York, and Sarah Timmerman of Pensacola, Florida, as well as eleven great grandchildren, all of whom loved him very much. Stephen was preceded in death by his loving wife, Corinne Krny, who passed away on June 22, 2003.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 11 a.m., at St. Marys Church of the Visitation, 54 Grove Street, Clinton, CT. There will be visitation at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, CT, on Friday from 9:30 a.m., to 10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place following the Mass at St. Marys Cemetery, 24 Beach Park Road, Clinton. A reception will follow the burial at the home of Stephens son, John Krny, at 85 Old Nod Road, Clinton, CT.

Eleanor Clinchy Reinhardsen, 91, wife of the late Daniel Reinhardsen Jr., passed away on Wednesday, September 18 at the Apple Rehab Center in Old Saybrook, CT. She was born in Denver, CO, on February 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Everett and Winifred Mead Cinchy. She was the loving mother of Katharine Bishop of Westbrook, CT, David Reinhardsen of Nyack, NY, and Steven Reinhardsen of Guilford, CT. Dan and Eleanor were also the caring guardians of the late Gaylord Albie Albertson. Eleanor also had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Eleanor graduated from George School, Newtown, PA and attended Guilford College, Greensboro, NC. The Reinhardsens resided in Guilford for many years where Dan served as First Selectman for 2 terms. Eleanor and Dan were among the founding members of SARAH, Inc., a local organization dedicated to the care of people with special needs.

Mary Geiger Young Welch, 96, of Old Saybrook, formerly of Madison and Clemson, South Carolina, died peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2013. Born on March 7, 1917 in East Orange, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John J. Geiger and Hilda Winter Geiger. She was predeceased by her husbands, Daniel A. Young and Howard C. Welch. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Bowers and her beloved daughter, Marianne Y. Tompkins of Madison. Mary is survived by her brother, John J. Geiger, Jr. and her sister-in-law Betty, her loving granddaughters, Stephanie T. Jacobs of Guilford, Melissa Y. Richards and her husband Tom of Los Alamitos, California, Tracy T. Chidsey and her husband Scott of Clinton and Lindsay T. Doran and her husband Brett of Bend, Oregon, her great grandchildren, Nicholas and his fiancé Erica, Natalie, Hailey, Matthew, Marnie and Ashlyn and her great great granddaughter, Ainsley. She was fondly known as Mim to her granddaughters and great grandchildren, she loved to play bridge and was a strong, beautiful, smart and witty woman with a terrific sense of humor. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

In Guilford, Monday September 23, 2013, Harold ( Hap ) J. Bellmore, 89, of 1781 Long Hill Rd, Guilford, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Joan OHara Bellmore. Born in New Haven, CT on October 11, 1923, son of the late Frederick and Catherine Gill Bellmore. Survived by his son Hal Bellmore of Durham, daughters, Claire Mongillo of Woodbridge and Cynthia Bellmore of Guilford. Predeceased by his son Steven A. Bellmore and eleven brothers and sisters.
Harold served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps. He worked for the New Haven Country Club for several years before his retirement. Harold was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3928 and a founding member of the North Guilford Archery Club. He was an avid hunter and golfer.

Francis Fran Barteau Peberdy Mayer passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Madison House, Madison, CT. Prior to her short stay at Madison House, she resided in Guilford, CT. She was born on October 12, 1918 in New York City, New York to the late John and Mary Barteau. Survived by two daughters; Martha Lombard of Guilford, CT and Judith Bartlett (Rev. Harvey) of Bradford, VT; a son; William Peberdy (Amy) of Cookeville, VT; one brother John Barteau of TX; a brother-in-law Art Turner of MA; seven grandchildren Anne and Ed Lombard, Sarah, Daniel, and Joshua Bartlett, and Drew and Ben Peberdy; four great-grandchildren Mary, Eddie, Victoria, and Hayden; and several nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed quilting, collecting Blue Willow dishes, and baking her famous molasses cookies. She was a member of the Christian Science Church in Guilford. She worked for many years at Southern New England Telephone Company and the Guilford Savings Bank. For many years, she enjoyed spending time at her Vermont vacation home.
She was predeceased in death by her siblings Martin Marty Barteau, Mary Mimi Turner, and Marjorie Midge Thomas; a son-in-law Edwin Ned Lombard; her first husband and father of her children Arthur Art Peberdy; and her second husband Wilbur Bill Mayer.
Graveside Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Alder Brook Cemetery, Guilford.
In Yale New Haven Hospital, Tuesday, September 24, 2013, Alva (Sue) Dykes Hawkins, 96, of 104 Saltonstall Pkwy, East Haven, CT. Born on Laurel St in East Haven, CT on February 3, 1917, daughter of the late Samuel and Evalina Fox Dykes. Loving mother of Kenneth Hawkins of East Haven, Richard Hawkins of Leecanto, FL and Alva Lamson of Newport, ME. Also survived by five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughter Ethel Hawkins, her sister Stella Haesche and brother Edward Dykes.
Sue was formerly of Guilford before moving to Westbrook in 1997.

In St. Raphael Hospital New Haven on Thursday October 31, 2013, Carole Kreutler - Provenzano of Guilford passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of Louis Provenzano. Born in Newark, NJ on Dec. 12, 1942, daughter of the late John and Martha McReedy Gardner. Loving mother of Kevin Kreutler, Michael Kreutler, Robert Kreutler, and Steven Kreutler. Predeceased by her first husband Kenneth J. Kreutler and her son Keith Matthew Kreutler. Also survived by a brother Jack Gardner of PA and a sister, Marsha Nauta of SC.
Carole grew up in Maplewood, NJ and graduated from Columbia High School. She started her working career at Western Electric. The Kreutler family moved to Connecticut in 1983, and Carole became involved with several groups including the Newcomers Club, Mother of Twins Club and the Guilford Garden Club, the USTA and was a communicant of St. George Church, Guilford. She was also a long time member of the Guilford Racquet and Swim Club; where she worked for many years and recently retired in January 2013.

Leroy E. Harris, age 88, of Madison, died peacefully on November 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife Helen (Schrensky) Harris, his children Eleanor (Christopher) Nicholson of Madison, Jeffrey Harris of Madison, Matthew (Wendy) Harris of Ivoryton, and Stephen (Betsy) Harris of Tucson, AZ, his sisters Arline Gadwah of New Hampshire, Elaine McGahey of Dunellen, FL, 10 Grand Children, 2 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marion Lienfelder.
He was a World War II Veteran.

Martine Shea Jehan, 26, of Guilford died suddenly on Nov. 4, 2013. Martine graduated from Guildford High School in 2005. Martine was a beautiful, free spirit with a passion for music and art. She created a community of dear friends that followed music festivals and concerts together. Martine loved to learn about new cultures and people, spending three months in Rwanda as a volunteer for Global Volunteers where she worked with the locals in the Land of 1,000 Hills in Kigali. Martine is survived by her devoted parents Gary and Betsy Jehan, and loving brother Gary Jehan of North Guilford. Her family will miss her kind heart and fearless spirit. Martine is also survived by her grandmothers Eleanor S Crossley of Osterville, MA and Elaine Devroy of Croydon, NH. She is the niece of Albert and Dana Jehan of N. Guilford; Deedee Lemnah of Westminster, New Hampshire, Gale Case of Walnut Creek, CA; Catherine C Johnson and William Crossley of Cape Cod, MA; and many cousins.

Christian Karl von Graevenitz born July 19, 1944 died at home amongst his family and friends after a battle with cancer. Christians life had many chapters. Born in Queens, New York to Gertrude (Schulte) and Ludwig von Graevenitz, he, his brother, and mother moved to Bersenbrück, Germany in 1948. At age 16 Christian left home to join the German merchant marine to see the world. In order to remain an American citizen he returned to the United States at age 21, was drafted into the Army (Tropic Lightning), and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. After discharge he started a business in home repairs by going door to door in Brooklyn, New York. Over time this blossomed into CVG Contracting which did high quality renovations throughout New York City.
During this period he raised Joanne, Jennifer and Michael in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It was there that he opened his home to many people who needed a helping hand. He married Anne Liebling in 1996 and moved to Guilford, Connecticut to raise their daughter, Erika. Christian was a devoted Mr. Mom.
As close friend Donna said and many feel, Farewell and rest in peace, CVG. The best man at our wedding, the best man period, the best friend Jock could ever have wished for, one of my best friends, too. Vietnam vet, artist, actor, German apple pancake flipper extraordinaire, lover of cool beer, fine wine and Laphroaig whiskey, gardener with a magic touch, craftsman-contractor who could make plaster feel like silken marble, and turn piles of rocks into a winding wall with Jock's help, Hog Mountain camping buddy, emergency medic after Jock slashed his hand to the quick on a broken dish, lederhosen wearer, smoker, toker, grumpy old man with a heart of gold, the von grooviest, dear, dear, dear Chris. I am so grateful to have had you in my life.
Christian was predeceased by his brother Hans von Graevenitz of Osnabrück, Germany. Christian is survived by his wife Anne and their daughter Erika of Guilford, Connecticut; his daughter Joanne and her husband Frank Grochowski of Greenpoint, Brooklyn; his daughter Jennifer and her husband Reynolds Verdiner of Queens, New York and his son Michael Slattery of West New York, New Jersey; his grandchildren Christina and Frances Grochowski and Genie and Aliyah Verdiner; special family member, Jen Zehler of Branford, Connecticut and sister-in-law Dorothea von Graevenitz of Osnabrück, Germany.

In CT Hospice, Branford, Sunday, November 10, 2013, after a long illness, Doralese Freeman Benziger, 89, of Cedar Woods, Branford, CT. Beloved wife of the late George F. Benziger, Jr. Born in New Glouster, ME on August 24, 1924, daughter of the late William and Hazel Simonton Freeman. Loving mother of George F. Benziger III of New Haven, CT, Jerry A Benziger and his wife Monica of NC, William F. Benziger of IA and Robert L. Benziger and his wife Catherine of IA. Also survived by her brother Gordon Freeman of Cheshire, CT, three grandchildren, Sara Woolf, Timothy and Kovin Benziger and three great grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlyn and Henry.
Mrs. Benziger was an avid scrabble player with her longtime friends Dr Elizabeth Adams, Emma Mitchell and Agnes Lukens. Doralese and her husband George were long time members of the Shoreline Trolley Museum and she was also a member of the Odd Fellows.

In Branford, CT on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Thomas John Flanagan Sr, 92, longtime resident of Madison and Ridgefield, CT passed away peacefully. Beloved husband of the late Jane Frances Erickson Flanagan, Mr. Flanagan was born Nov. 15, 1920 in Somerville, MA son of the late Michael Flanagan and Bridget Delia McCarthy Flanagan of Ireland. Loving father of Elizabeth (Flanagan) Viloudaki of Madison, CT and Thomas J. Flanagan Jr and his wife Kimberly of Dunstable, MA. Loving grandfather to Eva Grace and Thomas J. Flanagan III of Dunstable and Emily Jane and William James Viloudaki of Madison. Predeceased by three sisters, Rita Foley, Josephine Fallon, Mary Tighe and two brothers, Francis and James Flanagan. Loving uncle, godfather, friend and mentor to many. Mr. Flanagan was a graduate of BC High and Boston College and served on the Board of Trustees for his beloved Alma Mater. He attended Columbia Graduate School of Management at Arden House, along with further graduate studies at Harvard and Oxford in Air Transportation. It was at BC at the start of WWII that he joined the Civil Pilots Training Program, where he found his love of flying. He was hired by Pan Am and during World War II, Mr. Flanagan served his country in the US Navy as a pilot. After his wartime service, Captain Flanagan continued his aviation career with Pan American World Airways out of JFK and the PanAm Building for over 45 years, befriending many VIPs along the way, including Juan Trippe, Charles Lindbergh, Willy Brandt, Tip ONeill, Maureen OHara and Charlie Blair and meeting Presidents Reagan and Bush Sr. as well as many other dignitaries from around the world. By the end of his distinguished career, he had flown aircraft from the clipper ships (flying boats) to the Boeing 747 and served in over 20 executive administrative roles, continually rising through the ranks of management. He was appointed SVP of Operations, International Affairs, Far-East Operations, and Assistant to the President to name a few. He was responsible for introducing the 747 into airline service, for negotiating hostage crises and for opening flight routes into China. In 1978, he started Pan Am World Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pan Am and was the president and CEO of this $500 million venture until his retirement. Captain Flanagan received several awards for his military and aviation career including: The Commanders Cross of the German Order of Merit from the German government for his outstanding work in connection with service to Berlin during the Berlin Airlift from 1953-1961 and a Certificate of Merit from US Department of Defenses General Westmoreland as Director of the R&R project for outstanding contributions to the morale and welfare of the troops in Vietnam from 1966-1969. He served Pan Am well in its mission to unite the world and was truly a member of the Greatest Generation. He will be deeply missed.

Beloved sister of Hal Bellmore of Guilford and Claire Mongillo of Woodbridge, CT. Predeceased by her brother Steven A. Bellmore.
Cynthia was a lifetime resident of Guilford and worked through the years at area restaurants including the Hob Nob and Woodlawn restaurants.

In CT Hospice, Branford, Thursday, November 14, 2013, Rena O. Holihan, 81, of Lake Drive, Guilford. Beloved wife of the late Robert Timothy Holihan. Born in New Haven, CT on August 6, 1932, daughter of the late Archie and Olleen Scovill Young. Loving mother of Cynthia Grimaldi and her husband Mike of Fairfield, Roberta Dise and her husband Jack of Wallingford and Nancy LaChance and her husband Jim of Guilford. Also survived by four grandchildren, Dana (Chris) Aylward, Dan Grimaldi, Tim (Claudia) Dise, Stephanie Dise, two great grandchildren, Emilie and Christopher Aylward. Sister of Robert Young of FL. Predeceased by her sister Charlotte Andres.
Rena worked for Caldor Dept. stores in Hamden and Branford for 30 years. Her greatest joys were her family, her home and her pets. She was most happy when mowing her extensive lawn then spending time in the pool.

In Guilford, Thursday, November 14, 2013, Marie V. Kane a longtime resident of Long Hill Farm, Guilford passed away peacefully. Wife of the late Gregory F. Kane. Marie was born on February 10, 1927, in New York, daughter of the late David and Velma Fehr Sammarco. She is survived by her daughter, Candice Kane of IL and a grandson, Alexander Kane of NY. Predeceased by a son, Gregory Kane, a brother and a sister.
Marie loved and cultivated beauty, in her home, her garden, the way she prepared and presented a meal. She loved to make wreaths with items culled from the woods and ditches, she hosted parties filled with light and laughter and she created a small Eden on her patio with flower pots that she tended every day. Marie was a picture of elegance and grace and shared her warmth and joy generously and with humor. She was a life time member of and was actively involved in the Guilford Garden Club. Marie enjoyed her free spent with friends and family and throughout her years, she had gained the admiration and respect of the many people she met in the course of her lifetime. She appreciated and enjoyed the Guilford House community, where the staff showed such kindness and connected with Marie as new friends would.

Mary Connolly, born September 10, 1938, passed away peacefully November 15, 2013. She leaves to cherish in her memory her beloved husband William of 52 years and five beautiful daughters; Peggy Daly and husband Michael, Eileen Daily and husband Bernie, Patricia Cristalli, Maureen Raucci and partner Nicolena Murgo and Easter Swartzentruber. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren Joseph and wife Jessica, Nicole and Timothy Cristalli, Patrick Daily, Briana and Lauren Raucci, Michael Daly, Cooper and Olivia Swartzentruber and sister Easter Miles. Mary was predeceased by her mother Easter Lynch and father Detective Joseph J. Lynch, NYPD, sister
Martha and brothers Robert and John Lynch.

Elizabeth Japp Fox, 85, wife of the late Florian A. Fox, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Beth Moffat and her husband David of Guilford, Marjorie Shampain and her husband Robert of Wethersfield; her cherished grandsons, John Moffat of Guilford, Kevin Moffat of Gales Ferry and Joshua Shampain of Wethersfield. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. John Japp and his wife Norma of Carlisle, MA and sister-in-law, Lucile Riviere of Tampa, FL; along with many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Harriet Japp of Bridgeport, CT. Elizabeth was predeceased by a sister Marjorie DuBois and her husband, Arthur J. DuBois. Elizabeth was born in Stratford, CT on Dec. 5, 1927 and was a lifelong resident of Connecticut. She was a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church of Guilford; a member of the Leetes Island Garden Club, serving as president for several years; volunteered at the Hole in the Wall ABC; and a member of the Madison Winter Club. In her earlier years she was very active in the Guilford Keeping Society, the Guilford Lioness Club and the Dorothy Whitfield Society.
Memorial services will be held in the First Congregational Church, 100 Broad St, Guilford on Thursday, November 21 at 11am. Burial will take place privately. On Monday, November 18, 2013 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford, Francis W. Sweigart, Sr. of Cedar Grove, Little Falls, Toms River, NJ and Guilford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Frank was the loving husband of the late Muriel B. Sweigart. He was born March 14, 1922 in Orange, NJ, son of the late William and Margaret (Mulraney) Sweigart. Beloved father of Margaret Kozub and her husband John, Jr. of Guilford, Roberta Price of Fredericksburg, VA, Deborah Bates of Baltimore, MD and Francis W. Sweigart, Jr. and his wife Jacquelyn of Caldwell, NJ. Grandfather of John Kozub, III, Amy Steffanides and her husband Todd, Rosemary Sweigart and Brendan Sweigart. Also survived by three great grandchildren, Caden Kozub, Avery and Jack Steffanides, who were the light of his life in his later years. Mr. Sweigart served in the 482nd Bomb Group, Eight Air Force of the Army Air Corp in Europe during World War II. Frank was a retired chief of the Little Falls Fire Company #3 and a member of the VFW Post 7506. He began working in the United States Post Office in Cedar Grove, NJ in 1949, appointed Post Master in 1973 and retired in 1981. He lived at the Gables in Guilford for over 10 years.

Jacquelyn Kline, 91, a longtime resident of Guilford, died peacefully at the Village Green Nursing Center in Wallingford on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Wallace Albert Kline. Mrs. Kline was born in New Haven, CT on November 18, 1922, daughter of the late Adella Mae Taylor Ericson and Standish Greenleaf. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Doris Bernardi of Wallingford and Lynn Kline of Ashfield, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Erik Jasperson of Lyme, NH, Matthew Sherman of Conway, MA and Captain Anthony J. Bernardi, USAF stationed in NE. She is also survived by a nephew Richard Greenleaf and a grandniece Erin Greenleaf of Guilford.
Mrs. Kline graduated from West Haven High School in 1940 then went on to secretarial school. She worked at the Shoreline Times and at local stores, retiring from Fleischmans Department store in Guilford.
Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Klines memory may be made to the charity of ones choice. 
We are sorry to inform you that our family lost our father at 11 am on Friday despite his courageous battle with heart disease and lung cancer. Dad was one of the kindest and most generous people we have ever had the privilege of knowing. His courage in facing both diseases will forever be an inspiration to us.
OBITUARY:
Francis E. Hayes, 91, beloved husband for 66 years of the late Marie Cuneo Hayes, loving father of Michael Hayes of Colchester, CT and Greg Hayes of Clinton, CT died after complications from heart surgery on November 22. He also is survived by a sister Katherine Hayes Corrao of Miami, FL and his sister-in-law Rita Alexander West Haven, CT. He was born in Milford, MA, son of Daniel Roy Hayes and Albina Guertin. He was predeceased by his sister Alice Hayes Rabaioli and her husband Robert and three brothers, William Roy Hayes and his wife Mary, Robert Edward Hayes, Joseph Harold Hayes and his wife Catherine.
Frank spent his early years in Milford, Mass and then moved to New Haven, CT. He worked for the U.S. Army Ordinance before enlisting in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Baltimore as the Captains Yeoman. During his service on the USS Baltimore he earned five battle stars. In October 1944 he was transferred to the U.S. Naval Small Craft Training Center in San Pedro, CA, as a court recorder.
After the war, he returned to Hamden CT. He received his accounting degree from the University of New Haven and graduated from the School of Executive Development also at the University of New Haven. He also completed one year of the Executive MBA Program.
He worked for 15 years for Safety Car Heating and Lighting Company in Hamden, CT as the consolidation accountant. He then joined the U. S. Naval Products Division of United Nuclear Corporation, serving as comptroller for over twenty-five years before retiring.
He and his wife Marie travelled in their motor home for many years and visited all contiguous forty-nine states and then visited Hawaii. He is a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 6378, a member of the VFW, Post 9918, and an active member of the Westbrook Veterans Honor Guard.
He served as a Eucharist Minister for St. Peter the Apostle Church in Naples, FL before returning back to Clinton CT. He also served as an usher at St. Marys Church of the Visitation in Clinton CT.
Friends may call Monday, Nov. 25 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Marys Church of the Visitation, 54 Grove St, Clinton on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 1 pm. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Rt 145, Westbrook.
