In Guilford, Sunday, July 21, 2013, Sophie Boncek Struzinsky, 95, a longtime resident of Guilford. Wife of the late Stanley Edward Struzinsky. Sophie was born September 2, 1917 in Greenfield, MA, daughter of the late John and Bertha Murzyn Boncek. Survived by her brothers, Randolph Boncek and his wife Leona of East Haven, CT, Edward Boncek of VT and a sister, Ann Roberts of MA. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Richard Boncek, Stephen Boncek, Chester Boncek and a sister, Gladys Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Struzinsky served her country proudly during WWII in the US Navy WAVES and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford Thursday, July 25 at 11am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford. Friends may call prior to Mass on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sophies memory may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405.
