Mr. Harry ( Corky ) J. CordtsSaturday, July 12, 2014, Harry ( Corky ) J. Cordts, 83, longtime resident of North Guilford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Husband of Margery Gordon Cordts. Corky was born in Guilford on July 30, 1930, son of the late William H. and Mary Tscherne Cordts. Father of William (Jacqueline) Cordts of Boonville, NY, Pamela (David) Cordts DeMaio of North Guilford, and Laura Cordts (Shawn Seymour) of Potsdam, NY. Brother of Ann Tenoske of Branford. Grandfather of Mark and James DeMaio. Also survived by great grandchildren Anthony, Samantha and Jacob Makey. Predeceased by a brother William J. Cordts. Mr. Cordts is a 1948 graduate of Guilford High School and served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. He owned and operated E.C. Griffiths Inc. for many years, and closer to his retirement years changed the company name to Harry J. Cordts Repairs and Remodeling. Corky’s family would like to thank the staff at Peregrine’s Landing in Clinton for their loving care over the last three years. Memorial Services will be held in the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd, Guilford on Friday, July 18 at 1 pm. Burial with Military Honors will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association Connecticut, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or Faulkner’s Island Light Brigade, PO Box 444, Guilford, CT 06437.
