Evelyn Irene Argyros, 87 of Madison, passed away on Jan 11, 2014 in Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late John N. Argyros and devoted mother of Nicholas John Argyros and his wife Josie and Louis C. Argyros and his wife Rhonda of Arizona. Evelyn was born March 11, 1926 to Catherine and Charles Clore and is the 12th of 14 (predeceased) siblings Art, Burt, Florence, Julia, Kate, Harry, Lillian, Lindy, and Frank. Evelyn was multiple times past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW post 2096. She enjoyed bowling, cards, bingo and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, great grandchildren and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret RC Church, 29 Academy St, Madison on Thursday, January 16 at 11am. Burial will take place privately. Friends may call Wed. Jan. 15 from 5 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Memorial contributions may be made to a Veteran charity of choice.
