In St. Raphael Hospital New Haven on Thursday October 31, 2013, Carole Kreutler - Provenzano of Guilford passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of Louis Provenzano. Born in Newark, NJ on Dec. 12, 1942, daughter of the late John and Martha McReedy Gardner. Loving mother of Kevin Kreutler, Michael Kreutler, Robert Kreutler, and Steven Kreutler. Predeceased by her first husband Kenneth J. Kreutler and her son Keith Matthew Kreutler. Also survived by a brother Jack Gardner of PA and a sister, Marsha Nauta of SC.
Carole grew up in Maplewood, NJ and graduated from Columbia High School. She started her working career at Western Electric. The Kreutler family moved to Connecticut in 1983, and Carole became involved with several groups including the Newcomers Club, Mother of Twins Club and the Guilford Garden Club, the USTA and was a communicant of St. George Church, Guilford. She was also a long time member of the Guilford Racquet and Swim Club; where she worked for many years and recently retired in January 2013.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Thursday, November 7, at 10 am. Burial will follow Mass in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St, Guilford. Friends may call Wednesday, November 6 from 5 -8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Memorial contributions in Caroles memory may be made to Smilow Cancer Center, PO Box 2038, New Haven, CT 06508.
