Mrs. Evelyn Irene ArgyrosEvelyn Irene Argyros, 87 of Madison, passed away on Jan 11, 2014 in Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late John N. Argyros and devoted mother of Nicholas John Argyros and his wife Josie and Louis C. Argyros and his wife Rhonda of Arizona. Evelyn was born March 11, 1926 to Catherine and Charles Clore and is the 12th of 14 (predeceased) siblings Art, Burt, Florence, Julia, Kate, Harry, Lillian, Lindy, and Frank. Evelyn was multiple times past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW post 2096. She enjoyed bowling, cards, bingo and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, great grandchildren and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret RC Church, 29 Academy St, Madison on Thursday, January 16 at 11am. Burial will take place privately. Friends may call Wed. Jan. 15 from 5 – 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Memorial contributions may be made to a Veteran charity of choice.

Mrs. Cornelia Vermeltfoort LattaSweet and strong to the end, after the long, slow goodbye of Alzheimer’s Disease, Cornelia Vermeltfoort Latta passed away peacefully on January 16, 2014. Cornelia “Corry” Latta was born in Eindhoven, Netherlands on May 3, 1928 to a large family with 6 children. During a World War, things were not easy, but Corry was raised in a loving family who all helped each other get by. She is survived by her husband, 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child, her brothers, Wil, Theo, and Pete, and her sister Jo. She will join her eldest sister Nelly in Heaven. Corry had a taste for adventure and travel. After attending a business school, she headed to Spain to be a governess. She learned fluent Spanish and spoke many languages with ease. Active in the Catholic Church, she ultimately landed a secretarial job in Washington D.C. with Bishop Hannah who later became the Archbishop of New Orleans. There she met Roderick Latta who was attending Georgetown University. They married and eventually settled with their 3 children Gregory, Michelle and Marjorie in Yorktown Heights, New York. Corry was athletic throughout her life and made staying in shape a priority. She also worked at Yorktown High School for many years as a Teacher’s Aide and was affectionately called “Moods”, short for Moeder or Mother in Dutch, by her children and their friends. Corry was a wiz at mathematics, played duplicate bridge in a club and had many friends. Her loving and easy demeanor made her an approachable and inviting person. Her strength made her a foundation for her family. For the past 10 years with her disease, she has received unending and loving care from her husband of 55 years. Well tu Reusta Corry, Mom, Oma, we love you and will never forget you.

Mrs. Janet M. Baum - MeisingerBorn Janet Marie Holcomb on August 6, 1933 in Bristol, CT, Janet passed to Our Lord with her family at her side on Jan. 19, 2014. Daughter of Rose (Miller) and Harold Holcomb, Janet spent most of her life residing in Madison, CT where she raised her five children. Janet was most recently a resident of Masonicare in Wallingford, CT. She leaves behind her daughters, Darlene A. May-Hicks (Herb) of Hartwell, GA; Elizabeth J. Shaw (Mark) of East Lyme, CT; Kathleen A. Bove (Anthony) of Summerville, SC; Susan M. Nilson (John) of Moodus, CT; her son, Henry T. Baum (Diane) of Wallingford, CT; and her step-daughter, Roberta Oliveira (John) of Holbrook, MA. Janet had 9 grandchildren, a great-grand daughter and three great-grandsons. She is predeceased by her husbands, Henry T. Baum Sr. and Vernon H. Meisinger. She is the sister of Lois Pelletier of Harwich, MA and is predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth Carlson and Lorraine Allen. Janet and Vernon spent their summers in Killingworth, CT and their winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Janet was a banker and managed several bank branches in the shoreline area. She loved life, she loved to laugh and she especially was proud of the family she raised. She was an accomplished knitter and she loved to plan and host family gatherings and parties, especially the much anticipated annual family celebration held each summer at the Madison Surf Club. She was a past member of the Madison Beach Club and the Westbrook Elks Club. Her family would like to thank the devoted staff at MidState Medical Center, most especially Dr. Sack and Dr. Briggs, for their care of our beloved mother. A celebration of her life will be held at The Mercy Center of Madison on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00pm. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her remembrance can made be made to the Masonicare Charity Foundation of CT, Annual Appeal, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Mr. Arthur F. DolanIn Guilford Tuesday, January 21, 2014, Arthur F. Dolan of River St, Guilford passed away peacefully. Beloved husband of Kathleen Makuck Dolan. Arthur was born in Guilford on July 25, 1939 son of the late Frank and Marion Everett Dolan. He is survived by his three loving daughters, and their spouses, Maureen and her children Casey and Antonio; Kathleen and her children Dylan and Mollie; and Margaret her son Bennett. Also survived by a sister Margaret (Ken) Wilson of Guilford and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Thomas J. Dolan. Mr. Dolan is a 1957 graduate of Notre Dame High School and proudly served his country in US Army. He was police officer for the Town of Guilford for over twenty-six years. During his tenure with the Guilford Police he was the Youth officer, Detective, Sergeant before retiring as Lieutenant. He was also a member of the New Haven Police Emerald Society and the American Legion in Guilford. After retiring he went to work for Dolan Brothers Shellfish, a family owned business. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Saturday, January 25 at 10am. Burial will be held privately. Friends may call Friday, January 24 from 4 – 8 pm at The Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mrs. Marie Natalie Zito CarlettiMarie Natalie Zito Carletti, 91, wife of the late Alpidio (Pete) Carletti, passed away Friday, January 17, at CT Hospice. Marie was born on Christmas Day,1922, in New Haven, CT to Anthony and Michelina (Lucibella) Zito. Marie leaves her beloved children: Peter and Marie (Seipel) Carletti of Branford, CT and Joan and Richard Cuomo, of Guilford, CT. She also leaves three grandchildren: Michele (David) Ahouse, Jason R. Cuomo, and Jessica (Jeremy) Mularski, and her great-grandchildren: Sophia and Theo Ahouse and Noelle Mularski. Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Richard Zito, and brother-in-law, Peter Lupoli. She leaves her loving family: Michael (Stephanie) Zito, Angelina Lorraine Lupoli, and sister-in-law, Ann Zito, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marie grew up with hardship during the Depression. She graduated from Hillhouse High School and Stone School of Business. Marie was an excellent student and a dedicated worker. She was employed by the NET, the North Branford Building Dept., the NY, NH, and Hartford Railroad, and Picker International, where she held a supervisory position. First and foremost, Marie was a Catholic with deep faith and a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a caregiver to her parents and her husband, who died at a young age from ALS. Marie was a loving, compassionate, just, and merciful woman, who put other people's needs before her own. Marie lived by two maxims: the "Golden Rule" and "you never understand a person until you walk a mile in his or her shoes." People were better for knowing Marie. During her retirement, Marie enjoyed taking courses at Gateway Community College and at the Madison and Guilford Senior Centers. She especially enjoyed Spanish, Poetry, Art, and Communications classes. She volunteered for the Madison Depot Senior Center and at Stevens Woods; walked along the Shoreline in Madison; and attended local operatic and theatrical performances. Marie remembered with fondness traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe with her family and friends. Marie's family is very grateful for all who provided spiritual care and healthcare during her prolonged illness. Friends may call Thursday, January 30, from 9 – 10:30 am at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Mr. Paul M. Sabetta, Esq.In Guilford Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Paul M. Sabetta, Esq, passed away suddenly. Beloved husband of Edythe Mancini Sabetta, and proud father of Paul M. Sabetta Jr and Andrew J. Sabetta and his fiancé Kaitlin Maltese all of Guilford. Paul was born in New Haven, CT on April 20, 1949, son of the late Matthew F. and Antoinette Novino Sabetta. He is also survived by his brother Frederick A. Sabetta and his wife Suzanne of Cincinnati, OH, a niece and nephew Katie and Brendon Sabetta. Mr. Sabetta graduated Magna Cum Laude from providence College in 1971. He went on to receive his law degree from Northeastern School of Law in 1974 and has been a member of the Connecticut Bar Association since 1974. He enjoyed family, friends, summer picnics, golf and a pure love of life. All that knew him were no stranger to his kindness and his unique sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Born June 18, 1931 in Providence, NC daughter of the late Albron and Minnie Humphries Gadd. Predeceased by her husbands, Robert William Sorensen and Charles N. Hammarlund. Beloved mother of William (Hallie) Sorensen, Sandra (James) Welchans, Norma (Martin) Garrity, Curtis (Ann) Sorensen, Peter (Cheryl) Sorensen, and Jeannette (David) Offredi. Grandmother of Richard Johnson, Penny Santamauro, Robert Johnson, Jennifer Hollenbeck, Theresa Speringo, Peter Sorensen, Jr, Jeremy Sorensen, Jared Sorensen, Jamie Robinson, Edward Welchans, Cara Offredi, Alyssa Sorensen, Arthur Offredi and Mark Sorensen. Also survived by nineteen great grandchildren and sister, Barbara (Bunny) Jettie. Nancy was a long time member of the North Guilford Co. 4 Ladies Auxiliary, a sixty year member of the North Guilford Congregational Church and a member of the Kings Daughters. Mrs. Reontina (Rae) Intilli D'AtriReontina (Rae) Intilli D'Atri, a longtime resident of Madison, passed peacefully in her home on January 25. Born in Amsterdam, New York on April 5, 1923, daughter of Albert and Theresa Intilli, Rae was a resident of Madison for more than forty years. She was a dental hygienist in private dental practices as well as in CHCP for thirty years. Upon her retirement, Rae was an active volunteer in numerous organizations. Together with her husband, Herman, she was a cardiac patient advocate in Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, a volunteer receptionist in the Yale New Haven Hospital, Goose Lane, Guilford, a weekly volunteer at the Watrous Nursing Home and Madison House and a volunteer and communicant of St. George Church in Guilford. Rae was devoted to her family, relatives and friends, cherishing many happy memories of birthday and anniversary celebrations as well as family reunions and tea with friends. She was an avid quilter whose sweet and cheerful demeanor was reputed to have originated with her having been "born with a smile on her face." Predeceased by Herman, her loving husband of sixty-two years, Rae is survived by her children - Kathleen Bender, David and his wife Connie D'Atri and Nicolette Tucker, her grandchildren - Jamieson Bender and his wife Susan Hwang, Courtney and Jay D'Agostino, Justin and Ryan Tucker, Meryl and her husband Shane Staats and Hillary and her husband Anthony Solarino, and great grandchildren, Cayden Tucker and Austin and Parker Staats, as well as by nieces and a nephew. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Frank and Joan Intilli of Schenectady, New York, and was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Skinner. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10am. Burial will take privately in Amsterdam, NY. Mr. Kurt F. ZimmermannKurt F. Zimmermann, 66, husband of Christina Zimmermann, died peacefully in his home in Madison, surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Kurt was a partner at Silverstein & Osach P.C., where he was a Tax and Trial Attorney. Previously, he served as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Connecticut. He began his career as a Trial Attorney in the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Bridgeport School of Law. Kurt is survived by wife Tina, to whom he was happily married for more than 44 years; daughter Emily, her husband Thomas and their three children, Isabelle, Hannah and Fletcher; son Karl, his wife Hillary and their three children, Julian, Oliver and Lorelei. He loved to be with his six grandchildren who fondly called him “Grumpa”. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lynn Zimmermann and Mary Jesionowski. One of Kurt’s greatest qualities was that he never took a day on this Earth for granted. He loved spending time on the waters around Connecticut, Watch Hill, and Block Island in search of a great fishing day. He creatively applied his mind, whether practicing law, fixing the engine of his boat, tying flies for his next fishing trip, or carving wood toys for his grandchildren. Kurt possessed an incredible will, boundless hope, and an understanding heart. Throughout his journey he reflected that his life was a “66-year vacation in paradise”. Kurt’s memorial service will be held at Madison Beach Hotel, 94 West Wharf Road, Madison, Connecticut on Saturday, February 15th 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Mr. Donald (Don) Leon HurteauDonald (Don) Leon Hurteau, 78, beloved husband of Marion Joyce (Gwinnell) passed away suddenly in his home in Guilford on Monday, January 27th. Loving father of Barbara (Joe) Grandel, Ellen (John) Horan, Nancy LaFogg (Dave Abel), Donald E. Hurteau, Kathy (John) Duenzl, and Thomas Hurteau. He is survived by 8 well-loved grandchildren; Amy, Nicole, Andrew, Shannon, Angelica, Christopher, Jack, Emily and 2 great grandchildren; Lorin and Marcel. He also leaves a sister, June Strawson and a brother William R. Hurteau II (Sheila) of Cape Cod, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He worked 36 years for SNET (now AT&T) in Purchasing. His passion and love for singing music continued throughout his life. He performed since the age of 18 at various concerts, night clubs, and restaurants along the CT shoreline. Don directed the youth choir at St. Margaret’s for 15 years, and the 11:30 am youth and adult choir at St. George’s for 35 years. He will be remembered, loved and missed by many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret’s R.C. Church, 29 Academy St, Madison on Saturday, February 1st at 10:00 am. Ms. Edith Burr NettletonEdith Burr Nettleton, life-long resident of Guilford and devoted librarian, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at age 105. Her education began in the one-room Clapboard Hill School House and she went on to graduate from the Guilford Institute and Springfield Library School. She was the first director of the Guilford Free Library where she served for 44 years, retiring in 1978. For another 36 years, she was a loyal volunteer, developing historical archives. In 2003, the present Edith B. Nettleton Historical Room was named in her honor. Ms. Nettleton was a member of the First Congregational Church of Guilford for 80 years where she volunteered in several capacities. She was known for her grace, warmth, love of books, and close relationships with family, co-workers and friends. Edith was born July 22, 1908 in Washington, CT daughter of the late Willis Mills Nettleton and Susan Burr Nettleton. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Martha Pacilio of Leeds, MA, Nancy Jackson of Dublin, NH, Wesley Nettleton of Lawrenceville, GA, Susan Oullette of Gardner, ME, and David Nettleton of Ardmore, PA along with her sister-in-law, Ruth Alexander Nettleton of Guilford. She was predeceased by two brothers, Willis M. Nettleton and S. Lewis Nettleton and a sister, Elizabeth N. Theiss. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 1 pm at the First Congregational Church, 122 Broad St, Guilford. Mrs. Rose Dipinto SantamariaRose Dipinto Santamaria, 92, wife of the late Dominick Santamaria died at Apple Rehab in Guilford and went to join her heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 28,2014. Rose was born in Turi, Italy on November 27, 1921 to Antonio Dipinto and Palma Stanisci. When she was 14 yrs old she lost both her parents and traveled aboard the Conte Di Savoia to live with her Aunt Jenny in Guilford. CT, arriving February 11, 1935. She was a hard worker with her uncle at his landscaping business and at the Guilford Cannery packing tomatoes. She married Dominick Santamaria March 29, 1941 at St. George Church in Guilford and took great pride in raising her family. Rose enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Before arthritis set in she would crochet everything from delicate doilies and tablecloths to afghans. Since 1983 she had lived in Guilford Senior Housing on Boston Terrace where she had many friends. She continued to work well into her seventies, never asking for help from anyone. Family was number one and she loved everyone. She is survived by children Antonio (Jackie) of Clinton, Marie Cullen (Larry) of Higganum, Larry (Pauline) of Guilford, Jenny Morse (Robert) of Guilford, Michael (Linda) of Clinton, Debra Bennett of New Haven. Also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a sister Camela of Italy. Predeceasing her were her husband Dominick Santamaria, Sr., children Dominick, Jr, Patricia, and John, her parents, brother Lorenzo and great grandson Jonathan Santamaria. The family thanks the staff at Apple Rehab for the care given their mother during her stay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Thursday, February 6 at 11:30. Burial will follow Mass in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford. Father of Michael William Reiss of Clinton, Maureen (Brad) Laird of North Branford, William Michael (Kristine) Reiss of Westbrook, Honey Reiss-Dombkowski of Chester, Elizabeth (Ted) Vecchiarino of Ivoryton CT. Grandfather of Bradford, Jack and Guy Laird; and grandchildren from his first marriage, William & Stephanie Reiss, Andrew & Kaitlyn (Step grandchildren); Danielle & Brittany Dombkowsky; Eliza Hope Vecchiaino. Brother of Tim (Nicky) Reiss of Branford, Joan (Chuck) Law of Clinton and Debra (Butch) Onofrio of FL. Mr. Reiss is a graduate of Guilford High School and served in his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. After his service duty in the Marines he went on to work as a mechanic. William also worked as an auto salesman for Bob Thomas Ford and during retirement he worked part-time as a school bus driver. Mary was born in Ballston Spa, NY on February 12, 1934, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Oleksiak. Beloved mother of Jody (Gary) Burkle of Great Barrington, MA. Stepmother of Steven (Paula) Ghiroli of Guilford, Kathy LaShane of Guilford and Susan (John) Heath of Bristol, CT. Mrs. Breandt started her career as an executive secretary for General Electric in Schenectady, NY. Upon moving to Guilford she was an office manager for Yorkville Craftsman. After retiring she volunteered at the Our Lady of Grace Monastery Gift Shop for over 15 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Thursday, February 6 at 10am. Burial will take place privately. Mr. George E. Hahn, DVMGeorge E. Hahn, DVM, 81, of North Branford, CT, formerly Jeffersonville, NY, died peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on February 1st with his children by his side. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara, daughter Lisa and her husband Jim Cantey of Madison, CT , son Kurt and his wife Karen of Damascus, MD, grandchildren Eric, Sarah, Bryan and Alexis and several nieces and nephews. George was born April 5th, 1932, in Callicoon Center, NY, on the family homestead his great-grandparents built after immigrating from Germany in the 1850’s. He was the son of Edward and Elizabeth Hahn. He was predeceased by his sisters Betty Baum and Louise Freer. As a child, he rode his horse Mickey to the one-room Weissmann district schoolhouse until the regionalization of Jeffersonville Central School. He graduated from the Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1956 and established the Jeffersonville Animal Hospital. George loved his community and always thought of others before himself. He served on the Sullivan County Parks and Recreation Commission, Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School Board, Jeffersonville Lions Club, and JEMS (Jeffersonville Enhances Main Street), among others. He will be remembered for his quick dry wit, willingness to serve and compassionate care for animals. George and Barbara loved to travel, visiting all seven continents. His favorite trips were to Papua New Guinea and trekking gorillas in Africa. George and his family thank Thomas Duffy, MD, Sue Farone, RN and Mary Fuller, RN for their outstanding medical care and compassion enabling him to survive his battle with leukemia nineteen years ago. In addition, thanks go to the medical and nursing staff of 5-5 at Yale-New Haven Hospital during his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to JEMS, Jeffersonville, NY, 12748, the Employee Appreciation Fund of Evergreen Woods, 88 Notch Hill Rd. North Branford, CT 06471, or Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Sullivan County-4H Education Programs, 64 Ferndale Loomis Road, Liberty, NY 12754. Following his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Jean was born in Meriden on Aug. 6, 1911, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Terlikowski. Beloved mother of Sheila Lee of Guilford and Patricia Krafcik of Hamden. Also survived by six grandchildren, Paul Krafcik, Kevin Lee, Laura Haydon, Brian Lee, Annette Krafcik and Timothy Lee and seven great grandchildren, William, Griffin, Chloe, Collin, Madelyn, Christopher and Keelan. Predeceased by two sisters. Prior to Madison, Jean and Joseph resided in Stratford where they raised their family and celebrated 65 years of marriage. They enjoyed reading and their daily walk in Longbrook Park. For many years they also enjoyed the weekly Pinochle games with neighbors and friends. Their greatest joys however were in their children and watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Saturday, February 8 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow Mass in Alder Brook cemetery, Boston St, Guilford. Mrs. Mae ChristieIt is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Mae Christie, Monday, February 3, 2014 at the age of 102. Wife of the late Earnest C. Christie. She was born in Guilford on November 13, 1911, daughter of the late James J. Bergen Sr. and Caroline Connors Bergen. She resided in Guilford her entire life. Mother of Carolyn and her husband Russell Pierson, the late E. Carl Christie and the late Mary Beth Goldblatt; grandsons Russell (Fran), Brian (Sara), Christopher (Tara); granddaughters Julie (Peter) and Kelly (James). Great grandchildren include RJ, Tyler, Carlye, Ian, Sydney, Emery, Christie, Eric, Justin, Katie, many loved nieces and nephews and her special extended family in Sweden. She was also predeceased by her sisters Vivian Oppel, Marguerite Shepard, Charlotte Frenett, Anna Bergeron and two brothers, John and James Bergen. Mae was a communicant of St. George Church and a member of the Ladies Guild, Blue Army, the Burma Club and a Eucharistic Minister serving the neighboring nursing homes. Her early life included working with her best friend Bernice at her restaurant and Christmas time at the Guilford Forge. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and the best of listeners to the many people who walked through her door. She will remain in our hearts forever. Mrs. Christie family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab in Guilford for the most wonderful care she received during her stay. Adeline was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John J Sherwin who died in 1998. Adeline is survived by her son, Bruce J Sherwin and daughter in law, Maggie of Venice, Florida, grandson, Bruce Sherwin Jr. (Sara) of Woodinville, Washington, grandson, Ryan P Sherwin, of Guilford, Connecticut, and great grandson, Bruce Sherwin III and great granddaughter, Adeline Sherwin. Adeline was known to her friends and family as Addie. She and her husband John lived in Newington, Connecticut for many year where John was a residential developer and Addie had a successful career as a real estate broker, investor and company owner. In addition to her work, Addie was an avid collector of American antiques. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Monday, February 17 at 10am. Mr. William John Terribile Sr.William J. Terribile, Sr, died peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Peregrine’s Landing, Clinton CT. He leaves his beloved wife, Lois A. (Burkle) Terribile of 66 years. He was born in Fair Haven, Ct on September 26, 1922 to Anthony W. and Helen G. Terribile. He leaves six well-loved children, Barbara (Fletcher) Andrews, William Jr. (Suzanne) Terribile, Thomas Terribile (Janine Vitiello), Alice Terribile (Jim Neilson), Raymond (Terry) Terribile and Janet Terribile (Thomas Holberton). Bill also leaves 17 grandchildren, David, Jill (Remokitis) and Terri David, Justin, Sarah (Murray), Stephen, Kiersten, Adrienne (Dubuc), Nathan and Jason Terribile, Jessica and Joseph Baker, PJ and Jared Sorensen and Helen, Michael and Jacqueline Andrews. Fifteen great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His was predeceased by brother, Howard Terribile and sister, Dorothy Roberton. Bill graduated from Hamden High School and served in the US Navy – 8th Naval Construction Battalion in the Pacific Theater. After an honorable discharge he graduated from Stone College of Business and was employed by Detroit Steel Corporation, Hamden, CT for over 35 years. He was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church, Town of Guilford Treasurer 1958, Member of VFW Post 7666 serving as Quartermaster for over 40 years, 50 year member of St Albans Lodge #38, A.F. and A.M., Past Treasurer of Guilford Agricultural Society, Past President of Shoreline Square Dance Club, a member of the Guilford Senior Citizens and a School Crossing Guard for many years in Guilford. He enjoyed camping with his family and was a member of Seashore Sams, and the Clamdiggers and was affectionately known as “Mr. MaGoo.” Bill was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. He will be remembered, loved and missed by many. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park Street, Guilford. Burial will follow at Nut Plains Cemetery, Guilford. A celebration of his life will be held at the Knight of Columbus, 390 South Union Street, Guilford immediately after burial. Mr. James Perkins Earle IIJames Perkins Earle II, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He lived in Guilford for over 50 years. Loving husband of the late Roberta (Robin) Earle for 54 years. Father of Pamela Earle Clark (Jonathan),Elisabeth Earle (John Hampel), James P. Earle (Sally), Peter F. Earle (Audrey), Roberta Earle Lawlor (Andrew). Predeceased by twin daughters Mary and Martha. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. James (Jim) was born in New Haven on January 4, 1934, son of the late Lyon H. Earle and Ruth H. Earle. James graduated from Hamden Hall in 1952 and attended Trinity College in Hartford. He worked for the Winchester Division of Olin for 22 years. After Olin he worked in the metal finishing industry. Jim was active in youth sports and enjoyed coaching many years. Jim was a member of the CT National Guard 118th Med Battalion, 102nd Infantry for 6 years. Jim was a daily communicant of St. George Church in Guilford and was active in many stewardship programs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19 at 10am. Burial will follow Mass in Westside Cemetery, Three Mile Course, Guilford. Friends may call at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford Tuesday, February 18 from 4 to 7 pm.
