![Mrs. Patricia A. (Prescott) Ayles]()
Patricia A. (Prescott) Ayles, 69, of 284 Laurelbrook Drive, Guilford, beloved wife of Frank H. Ayles, died peacefully following a long illness on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the St. Raphaels Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Waterbury) Prescott, was raised in Fairfield, and was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School. She was an administrative assistant for many years, including at Perkin Elmer in Norwalk and Kenyon-Marine in Guilford. For several years, Pat was the proud owner of Lisa Anns Card & Gift Shoppe in North Branford. She particularly enjoyed her work with the Town of Guilford Park & Recreation Department and with the Guilford Senior Program. She made many close friendships with co-workers and neighbors over the years, and truly appreciated keeping in touch with each and every friend over the last few years of her life. Besides her husband, Pat is survived by her daughter Lisa A. Bailey and husband William of Branford, and her children, Alyssa Skitzis of San Diego, CA and Joseph Altrui of Branford; and her son F. Michael Ayles, and Beth Hollfelder, of Guilford, and his children, Rylie, Cameron and Parker Ayles of Guilford. She also leaves her sister Joan (Prescott) McGoldrick of Fairfield, as well as several nephews and nieces, especially a very special niece, Anne McGoldrick. She was predeceased by her brother, John James Prescott. For years, she enjoyed working on craft projects, watching comedy TV shows, and taking care of her indoor plants. But more than anything, Pat enjoyed her home away from home, Sanibel Island in Florida, with her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She will be missed by those who came to know her well, but her family is comforted by the realization that she is now free from pain.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 11 from 9:30-10:30am at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary Church, 731 Main St, Branford at 11am with burial afterward at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford.
