Lillian (Deignan) MacLeod, age 94, of Madison died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice in Branford on June 10, 2014. She is survived by her children: Suzanne Risley (Robert) of Madison, Pamela Nelson (Gary) of Ocean Isle, NC, Janet MacLeod (Paul Broderick) of White Plains, NY, and Diane MacLeod of Wilmington, NC; her grandchildren: Bryan Risley (Shelley), Krista Weaver (Brian), Courtney Nelson, Lindsay Nelson,
Alexandra Bucci (Joseph), Nicole Gramigna, William French IV, David French (Samantha Hoffman), Shannon French, and Kaycee French; her great grandchildren: Sydney Risley, Audrey Weaver, Ellery Weaver, and Hudson French; and loving nieces Elizabeth Dube (James) and Barbara Sladen (Thomas). She is predeceased by her husband, Lt. Col. David G. MacLeod Sr., her stepson, David G. MacLeod, Jr., and nine siblings.
Lillian was born on December 6, 1919 in Providence, Rhode Island to Vincent and Anna Deignan. She was a resident of Madison for 51 years. Lillian was a congregant of St. Margaret's R.C. Church and a member for many years of the St. Margaret's Women's Guild, the Reserve Officers Association Ladies, and the 749th Railway Battalion Veterans Club.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margarets RC Church, 24 Academy St, Madison on Monday, June 16, at 11 am. Burial will follow at the West Cemetery, Route 1, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405.
