Friday, January 31, 2014, Mary Breandt Ghiroli formerly of Guilford passed away peacefully. Wife of Dewey Ghiroli Sr. of Guilford and the late Francis W. Breandt. Mary was born in Ballston Spa, NY on February 12, 1934, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Oleksiak. Beloved mother of Jody (Gary) Burkle of Great Barrington, MA. Stepmother of Steven (Paula) Ghiroli of Guilford, Kathy LaShane of Guilford and Susan (John) Heath of Bristol, CT. Grandmother of Jason, Katie and Matthew Burkle, Step grandmother of Kyle, Aiden and Jessica Ghiroli, Kevin and Lauren LaShane, Kenzie and Daniel Heath and Jason Ghiroli and proud great grandmother of Willow Culleton. Sister of Gladys Caputo of Balston Spa, NY. Predeceased by stepson Dewey Ghiroli Jr, six brothers and four sisters. Also survived by stepdaughter in law Doris Ghiroli and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Breandt started her career as an executive secretary for General Electric in Schenectady, NY. Upon moving to Guilford she was an office manager for Yorkville Craftsman. After retiring she volunteered at the Our Lady of Grace Monastery Gift Shop for over 15 years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Thursday, February 6 at 10am. Burial will take place privately. Friends may call Wednesday, February 5 from 5 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace Monastery, 11 Race Hill Rd, Guilford, CT 06437.
