Martine Shea Jehan, 26, of Guilford died suddenly on Nov. 4, 2013. Martine graduated from Guildford High School in 2005. Martine was a beautiful, free spirit with a passion for music and art. She created a community of dear friends that followed music festivals and concerts together. Martine loved to learn about new cultures and people, spending three months in Rwanda as a volunteer for Global Volunteers where she worked with the locals in the Land of 1,000 Hills in Kigali. Martine is survived by her devoted parents Gary and Betsy Jehan, and loving brother Gary Jehan of North Guilford. Her family will miss her kind heart and fearless spirit. Martine is also survived by her grandmothers Eleanor S Crossley of Osterville, MA and Elaine Devroy of Croydon, NH. She is the niece of Albert and Dana Jehan of N. Guilford; Deedee Lemnah of Westminster, New Hampshire, Gale Case of Walnut Creek, CA; Catherine C Johnson and William Crossley of Cape Cod, MA; and many cousins.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Martines life at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St in Guilford on Friday Nov. 8, 2013 5:00 to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd, Guilford on Saturday Nov. 9 at 10:00 AM. Donations may be made in Martines name to "Honest Beginnings" P.O. Box 3699, Amherst, MA 01004. Martines beautiful life may perhaps be best remembered in the words of her beloved Grateful Dead: All I know is something like a bird within her sang, all I know she sang a little then flew on
