Frances Dudley Metzler, 88, of 21 Rice Terrace, Branford, formerly of Guilford, beloved wife of the late Clarence J. Metzler, passed away on Tuesday, July 30. She was born in Guilford, March 4, 1925 and lived there until 1979, when she moved to Branford. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elna Coulter Dudley. She is survived by her children Alan (Alicia) Metzler of Guilford, Lori (Lou) Apuzzo of Branford, Jay Metzler of Guilford, and Susan (Wayne) Handy of Chester. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alan, Kyle (Kathleen), and Kellyn Metzler; Jeff Apuzzo, Stephanie (Ryan) Hackett; Keean and Aidan Handy and her great grandchildren Alaric, and Craig Metzler.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Branford.
Friends may call on Saturday, August 3rd, from 10 to 12 Noon at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, CT 06437. A Memorial Service will be held at noon in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Frances may be made to the First Congregational Church, 1009 Main St, Branford, CT 06405.
